I travelled up to Exmouth for a holiday with my very pregnant girlfriend for a bit of a 'baby-moon'. It was beautiful up there, but incredibly hot that time of year. We went out to one of the bays around Ningaloo and on the way there, saw on the side of the road a flower I hadn't seen since I was a boy.
The Sturt's Desert Pea (Swainsona formosa) has such a beautiful colour and amazing shape. It's just so unique and this painting reminded me of it.
